One of the murder suspects in the murder of Pieter Hills, 56, who was killed on his farm outside the town on Thursday night, hanged himself after he and his accomplices were arrested in the Phomolong township outside the town on Friday night.
Hills was shot dead and his son, Eddie, 26, is currently in a critical condition in hospital after they were shot on the family farm on Thursday night.
Hills was shot in the head after being tied up and Eddie was shot in the neck.
The Hennenman Detectives and Crime Prevention worked round the clock last night after a farmer and his son were attacked at their farm in Swartpan. They conducted a crime intelligence-led operation and arrested four suspects in Phomolong Hennenman last night.
One of the suspects, aged 47, was found hanging in his cell in the early hours of this morning. In their thirties, the other three will appear in Hennenman Magistrate court soon on charges of murder and house robbery.

The Hills family’s domestic workers went to investigate at the house around 05:00 on Friday morning after Antoinette called the one.
Antoinette was out of town and was restless because she could not get hold of her husband or son.
The domestic workers, Anna Bochedi and Maria Khumalo, came across the murder scene and called for help.
