Employee pistolwhipped in Clairwood attempted robbery

A cashier at a business premises in Clairwood was pistolwhipped and sustained a head injury after three suspects, one with a firearm, attempted to rob the store earlier this afternoon.
The trio posed as customers initially and once inside the store, they wielded the gun.

PT Alarms Tactical Unit was first on scene after the PT Alarms Control Room received a panic once the suspects had fled.

According to the staff, three suspects, one brandishing a firearm, accosted the cashier and demanded she open the cash register.

The panic-stricken cashier froze and the suspects assaulted her.
They then fled towards Flower Road.
PT Alarms Tactical Unit conducted a search for the suspects togethet with Metro Police who attended the scene but no arrests were made.
Provincial ambulance treated the patient on scene and she was transported by private vehicle to hospital.

Montclair SAPS responded to the scene and are investigating further.
