Security guard arrested after shooting client in the face for not wearing a mask

A security guard has been arrested following a shooting at a Kimberley gas station where a customer refused to wear a mask.

Police have confirmed a 37-year-old security guard has been arrested for attempted murder.

The guard patrolled at the gas station in question late yesterday afternoon when the 36-year-old customer wanted to enter the gas station’s shop without a mask.

Allegedly, a fight broke out between the two after which the customer was shot in the face.

He was rushed to a hospital.
The guard was arrested and the firearm confiscated.

Lt. Genl. Provincial Police Commissioner Risimati Peter Shivuri in a statement condemned the attack and called for people’s patience and cooperation in the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic.
